A little gem of an eatery, nestled on the beach.

Just off the main road, on the rocks of Slippers Bay, the Atlantic laps a stone's throw from the tables. Don and Connie have poured their love for a great dining experience into every corner of Alegria: a seasonal menu of Portuguese and Mediterranean flavours, palate-pleasing house wines, romantic sea views and an easy-going atmosphere, lifted by music and live performances.

Ingredients come in fresh every day and every dish is made to order. Some take 45 to 60 minutes. That is the point. Pour another glass and watch the sun go down.

The Rocks

Front row to the Atlantic. Tables on the edge of the rocks where the waves break, and the best seats in the house when the sun goes down.

The Tent

Our main seating, open air under the stretch tent. Long tables for big families, birthdays and the live music nights.

The Lapa

A few more intimate tables under the lapa. For anniversaries, first dates and long, slow lunches for two.

The sun sets over the bay every evening and the rocks turn gold. Book half an hour before and you will not need dessert to make it a night.

On show nights the tent fills with live performances. A small cover charge per person, a cash bar and the full à la carte menu to order from.
